    Freshman Jessica Ojukwu posted a match-high 15 kills and hit .480 as Virginia Commonwealth defeated UNC Wilmington, 30-16, 30-24, 30-21 in Colonial Athletic Association volleyball action Friday at the Alltel Pavilion. The Rams improve to 6-13 on the season and even their conference record at 3-3, while the Seahawks slip to 7-15 on the year, including a 1-5 mark in the league.

Seahawks Roll To 3-0 Victory Over Northeastern

    Junior Kelly Renkin scored twice and the Seahawks defense limited the Huskies to just five shots as UNC Wilmington defeated Northeastern, 3-0, in Colonial Athletic Association women's soccer action Friday at the UNCW Soccer Stadium. The Seahawks improve to 7-4-1 overall and 3-2-0 in league play as they win their third straight. The Huskies, meanwhile, fall to 2-7-3 on the year with a 0-3-2 ledger in league play as they remain winless in their last eight contests.

Seahawk Harriers Tune Up For CAA's In Boone

    In a challenging tuneup for the upcoming Colonial Athletic Association championships, the UNC Wilmington cross country teams finished 17th in the men's race and eighth in the women's competition Friday in the 18-team Blue Ridge Open on the Don Kennedy Trails at the State Farm Fields. Sophomore Jeff Naro and freshman Lauren Wells paced the Seahawks once again individually in the meet hosted by Appalachian State.

UNC Wilmington, which sponsors 19 intercollegiate sports, has held Division I membership in the NCAA since the 1977-78 season.
