Brian Reagin, violin
Before joining the North Carolina Symphony, Brian Reagin was Assistant Concertmaster with the Pittsburgh Symphony, under Music Directors Andre Previn and Lorin Maazel. A Chicago native, Reagin is celebrating his thirteenth season as Concertmaster with the North Carolina Symphony (see longer bio in "People" section.)
Reagin is an avid private pilot with nearly 700 hours logged, including more than 150 hours on his home-built airplane. He currently lives with his wife Anne (also a violinist) and their two cats and young son, Sean Everette, in a historic house in Wendell that was also home to Charles Lindbergh’s flight instructor. Reagin is also building a home on his private airstrip, “Fiddleair,” in Johnston County.
The Concertmaster performs on a Lorenzo and Tomasso Carcassi violin made in Florence, Italy in 1763.
