ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Frank Bongiorno is the Department of Music chair and professor of jazz and saxophone. Additionally, he supervises the Summer Workshops Festival and directs the Summer Jazz Workshop. He is an active recitalist, orchestral soloist, and jazz artist, and has directed clinics throughout the United States and abroad. During Dr. Bongiorno's tenure at UNCW, his saxophone as well as jazz students have received national and international recognition by such organizations as DownBeat magazine and Jazzfest USA, among others.
