Originally from North Carolina, Mary Jo White is the Assistant Professor of Flute at UNC-Wilmington and principal flutist of the Wilmington Symphony with whom she recently appeared as a soloist performing Carl Nielsen's Flute Concerto. She was a freelance flutist in the Boston area where she taught on the faculty of Boston College and performed with Hyperprism (20th Century Ensemble in Residence), the Emmanuel Church Bach Orchestra, the French Library Chamber Players, Underground Composers, and others. Her prior positions include Assistant Professor of Flute at Central Michigan University and Instructor of Flute at Truman State University. She was also the principal flute for the Alma and Traverse City Symphonies in Michigan, and second flute/piccolo for the Lansing Symphony.

She presented a lecture-recital on Albert Roussel at the national CMS convention in Quebec (2005), and performed at the National Flute Association's convention in Pittsburgh (2006) as a winner of the NFA Performer's Competition. Dr. White earned a Bachelors in flute performance from East Carolina University, a Masters in flute performance from Michigan State University, and a doctorate in flute performance from Boston University where she studied with Doriot A. Dwyer.

Benjamin Boone (born in Statesville, in 1963) is an Associate Professor at California State University Fresno where he teaches theory and composition. A Fulbright Senior Specialist Fellow to the Republic of Moldova, his compositions have been performed in over eighteen countries from Carnegie Hall to China, Japan, Australia, Africa and Eastern/Western Europe. Boone's compositions appear on over sixteen commercial CDs by leading performers, and National Public Radio's "Weekend Edition" recently broadcast a feature story on his new cantata, Ascención. Other works for flute solo include Tribute to Debussy's Syrinx, (which garnered an award from ASCAP) and Rafflesia: Colossal Flower of the Rainforest.
