Garth Fagan Dance
Tuesday, March 11 at 8pm, Kenan Auditorium
Meet-the-Artists Discussion after the performance.
Garth Fagan , Tony Award-winning choreographer of Broadway's The Lion King, has been called "a true dance original" (New York Post). One of the great reformers of American dance, Fagan's singular dance language draws on many sources: modern dance, Afro-Caribbean traditions, the speed and precision of ballet and the rule-breaking experimentation of the post-moderns. His dancers embody his innovative movement style and are renowned for their individuality, unstylized approach and sheer physical virtuosity.
