The Yacoubian Building (Omaret yakobean)
Marwan Hamed's film is a meditation on corruption, fundamentalism, prostitution, homosexuality, and drugs in central Cairo, Egypt. is a critique of Egyptian society, The Yacoubian Building depicts the lives of several residents of a once grand, now decrepit Cairo apartment building. Based upon a novel by Alaa' Al-Aswany.
