Michael Kimmel Lecture: Mars and Venus - or Planet Earth?

Prominent Sociologist Michael Kimmel is a leading expert on gender in the United States and is a Professor of Sociology at SUNY Stony Brook. He challenges the Standard Mars-Venus gender model. "Everywhere we turn, we hear that women and men are so different that any communication is of interplanetary significance…In fact, in every arena - work, family, sexuality - women and men are far more similar. This means that instead of waging a "battle of the sexes" we can actually be allies."
