Gran Torino (Rated R)
Sponsored by ACE Films.
Walt Kowalski, a prejudiced veteran who lives in Detroit, is still troubled by the horrors he encountered in battle. He must confront his own bigotry when a boy, Hmong, tries to steal his beloved Gran Torino to receive admittance to a gang. After being caught, the troublesome teen is made to return to Kowalski's house to carry out an act of atonement. Kowalski wants absolutely nothing to do with the boy, but lines Hmong up with a construction buddy. On the journey, Kowalski realizes that the only way to put his torture to an end is to address his intolerance point-blank. Starring Clint Eastwood, Christopher Carley, Bee Vang, and Ahney Her.
