Saxophonist and composer Chris Potter - described by DownBeat as "something special" - is amongst the brightest talents to emerge on the contemporary American scene. For years, he's been a star sideman with some of the best, from legends like Red Rodney and Jim Hall to Steely Dan, master bassist Dave Holland and Herbie Hancock. Whilst rooted in the tradition of the great saxophonists - Charlie Parker, Lester Young, Sonny Rollins - he brings a keenly contemporary edge to his music.
He brings the super-charged electric group that features on his latest Emarcy recording, Underground, featuring guitarist Adam Rogers, bassist Scott Colley and drummer Nate Smith.
