Poems inspire and make us think about what it means to be a member of the human race. Listening to poetry encourages people to become members of the circle of readers for whom poetry is a vital source of pleasure, expression and freedom. This poetry exchange offers young and old an opportunity to share original poetry or poetry of significant meaning.
Ruffin, coordinator for multicultural student organizations in the campus activities and involvement office, is a seasoned writer, performer and host of poetry sessions. She has opened for such renowned poets as Kim Fields, Bridgett Gray and Blessings. Ruffin is committed to helping people experience similarities and differences in cultures and communities.
