UNC Wilmington Trustees Approve 2012-13 Tuition and Fees

Determined to maintain a high quality academic experience in the face of decreasing state financial support, the University of North Carolina Wilmington Board of Trustees today approved a 6.5 percent tuition increase for the 2012-13 academic year. In addition, UNC system universities were permitted in this year’s guidelines to recommend a “peer alignment” adjustment for student tuition.   more

Live Simulcast of UNC Wilmington Commencement via Web and Cable TV Saturday, Dec. 17

Fall 2011 Commencement exercises for the University of North Carolina Wilmington will be broadcast live in their entirety on Saturday, Dec. 17 by UNCW Television. The broadcast will be available on the Learning Network on Time Warner Cable channel 5 and Charter Cable channel 12.   more

UNC Wilmington Receives Second $1 Million Gift from Osher Foundation for Lifelong Learning Institute

The University of North Carolina Wilmington announced today that it has received its second $1 million gift from the Bernard Osher Foundation to support programming for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). Endowed in 2007 by an initial $1 million Osher grant, OLLI provides non-credit university courses, seminars and other educational opportunities to adult learners.   more

Fall Commencement: New Flock of Seahawks to Fly Dec. 17

A new flock of Seahawks -- an estimated 1,119 undergraduate, 250 graduate and 9 doctoral students -- will fly out of the University of North Carolina Wilmington at the fall 2011 commencement ceremonies on Saturday, Dec. 17.  more

AmeriCorps and UNC Wilmington Seek Regional Nonprofits In Need of Helping Hands

The University of North Carolina Wilmington is offering an opportunity for regional nonprofits seeking additional hands to help them serve their communities. UNCW’s Quality Enhancement for Nonprofit Organizations (QENO) is seeking nonprofit organizations in Columbus, Onslow and Robeson Counties who can benefit from the assistance of an AmeriCorps VISTA member in the upcoming year.   more
