UNCW Alumni Return For Homecoming 2004

WILMINGTON –UNCW alumni return to campus to celebrate Homecoming 2004 Jan. 23-25. All alumni who graduated between 1993 and 2003 are invited to attend the Young Alumni Homecoming Party Friday, Jan. 23 in the Center Stage Café at the Warwick Center. The festivities will begin at 9 p.m., and the Young Alumnus/ Alumna of the Year will receive a special award of recognition.

Open house celebration for African American alumni is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday, Jan. 23 in the Upperman African American Cultural Center in the University Union. The African American Graduate Association student-alumni social will be from 4 to 7 p.m. in the University Union. Celebrations will continue with a Step Show at 8 p.m. in Kenan Auditorium and the Old School Jam is from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. in the University Union. Homecoming Day, Saturday, Jan. 24, AAGA will have a luncheon at noon in the Center Stage Café in the Warwick Center and will have UNCW’s new chancellor Rosemary DePaolo as a featured guest. The cost to attend is $10.

Seahawk Java, Juice and Campus Growth Explosion, at 8:30 a.m., Saturday Jan. 24 at Wise Alumni House, features a continental breakfast and remarks by Ed Davis, associate vice chancellor of business affairs. At 10 a.m. Dean Cathy Barlow and UNCW Student Ambassadors will lead a campus tour beginning at the new School of Education building and featuring Cornerstone and Leutze halls.

The Tailgate Party begins at 2 p.m. in the Hawk’s Nest. All 1994 graduates and alumni from Alpha Pi Sorority, Theta Chi Fraternity and Kappa Alpha Si Fraternity will be recognized. All former cheerleaders and pep band members will also be recognized. Admission for alumni and guests is $10 for reservations made by Jan. 21. The cost will be $12 at the door.

The Homecoming Parade starts at 1 p.m. at Wagoner Hall. The Seahawks will face the Delaware Blue Hens at 4 p.m. in Trask Coliseum. Those unable to get tickets can watch the game on the big screen television at Alleigh’s. Following the game, there will be a Homecoming celebration at Alleigh’s with an Italian buffet dinner. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for a kid’s meal deal (ages 12 and under). For more information please call UNCW Alumni Relations at 910-962-2682.
