Wheeler Honored with UNCW Young Alumnus Award

WILMINGTON, NC – Jason Wheeler ’99, ’03M was named the 2004 UNCW Young Alumnus of the Year Friday during Homecoming festivities at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
The award, given by the UNCW Alumni Association, recognizes alumni who graduated in the past 10 years for outstanding service to the university and community.
“Jason has been extremely active with the alumni association in the short period of time he has been associated with the board,” said Tom Lamont, assistant director of alumni relations at UNCW. “He’s extremely committed to the Cameron School of Business, especially with the M.B.A program.” Lamont also noted that Wheeler has a high energy level that has had a positive impact on other alumni.
Wheeler serves on the UNCW Alumni Association Board of Directors and is active on the alumni development, student relations and finance committees.
A financial advisor with Morgan Stanley in Wilmington, Wheeler graduated magna cum laude in 1999 with a bachelor of science degree in finance. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree in 2003. Wheeler earned acceptance into Beta Gamma Sigma National Business Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and received the Outstanding M.B.A. Student Award. He served on the Student Advisory Council and was president of the M.B.A. Association.
