UNCW Ranked Among Top 50

Wilmington, N.C.—The University of North Carolina at Wilmington was named one of the top 50 best buys in public higher education by Consumer Digest. UNCW is ranked 38th in the nation.
Consumer Digest weighed several factors in compiling the list, creating a value index to rank the institutions. These factors included academic excellence and educational quality. Academic excellence includes SAT and ACT scores, grade point averages of incoming freshman and high school rankings. Educational quality includes graduation rates, faculty to student ratios and the number of faculty that hold a Ph.D. These factors were weighed against out-of-state tuition. UNCW received a value index of 95.7. The average out-of-state tuition for UNCW is $17,517.
