Indigo Girls concert highlights UNCW Family Weekend in September

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Indigo Girls are headlining the UNCW Family Weekend Music Festival Saturday, Sept. 18 in Trask Coliseum.

Performing with them will be the Pat McGee Band, Virginia Coalition and Three5human. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets for UNCW students, faculty and staff are $15 a person and go on sale Wednesday, Aug. 25. Only four tickets may be purchased with a valid UNCW ID. Tickets for the general public are $25 and go on sale Monday, Aug. 30.

Tickets can be purchased at the Kenan Auditorium box office or by calling 800/732-3643 or 910/962-3500. Box office hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The music festival is sponsored by the UNCW Division of Student Affairs and the Association for Campus Entertainment.

Other UNCW Family Weekend activities include:

• Doctor’s Vision Center Invitational Tennis Tournament on Friday, Sept. 17 and Saturday, Sept. 18 and Sunday, Sept. 19.

• Student Recreation Center Afterdark from 9 to 11 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17.

• Group kayaking from Carolina Beach to Masonboro Island from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18. Cost is $25 for students and $30 for guests, faculty and staff.

• Lunch and family funfest at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18.

• Ocean cruise and brunch on the Royal Winner Princess from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19. The cost is $24 a person.

• Men’s soccer vs. Wisconsin-Milwaukee at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19.
