UNC-WOOP! Performs Die Fledermaus, Act II

Wilmington, N.C. – The University of North Carolina Wilmington’s Opera Outreach Project, UNC-WOOP!, presents the second act of Johann Strauss, Jr.’s “Die Fledermaus” at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 23 in Kenan Auditorium. Admission is $5 and free to UNCW students with valid ID.

This event features UNCW students, alumni and special guest Michael Rallis, tenor, along with additional scenes including Bizet’s famous “Pearl Fishers” duet, with staging by Saint Paul, Minnesota opera director, Karen Miller. The UNCW Opera Outreach Project is designed to provide vocal and dramatic operatic training to young singers at UNCW and in the community. UNC-WOOP! is committed to fostering the link between campus and community and to awakening the interest in opera locally.

Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the University of North Carolina Wilmington and are used to support the Department of Music through scholarships for UNCW music students. For ticket information, contact the Kenan Auditorium Box Office 910/962-3500. For concert information, call 910/962-7416.
