Wilmington, NC -- In observance of the 30th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the UNCW Women's Resource Center is sponsoring a screening and discussion of If These Walls Could Talk, a film about the difficult decisions women must make when they face unplanned pregnancies. The film dramatizes the stories of the three different women who live in the same house--one in the year 1952, one in 1974, and one in 1996. It considers issues of social class and historical context as well as the consequences of the decisions themselves.
The event will take place at TONIGHT, 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 22, in Randall Library Auditorium. It is free and open to the public.
Terri Porter, center manager of Planned Parenthood, and Libby Stancil, executive director of Life Line Pregnancy Center, will be present to answer questions about the services their organizations provide. Betsy Ervin, director of the UNCW Women's Resource Center, will moderate discussion.
Please note that this event is NOT intended to be a debate, but rather a thoughtful examination of a complex issue.
