The William Madison Randall Library and Museum of World Cultures announces TREASURES: Selected Works by North Carolina and National Living Treasures as its current exhibit.

The curators, Hathia and Andy Hayes, borrowed art pieces from private collectors and artists from all over the country while combining pieces from the library's collection for this event.

A major gift of a ceramic art piece given by Toshiko Takaezu, 1994 National Living Treasure recipient, will be featured in the display. The exhibition runs through March 15 on the first floor art wall in Randall Library. A dedication ceremony of the Toshiko Takaezu gift and reception for the exhibit will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15 on the first floor of the library. Those who would like to attend please RSVP to Beth Roberts at robertsb@uncw.edu or Jennifer Corder at corderj@uncw.edu by Feb. 8. For more information call x3270.

Originated by Gerald Shinn, UNCW Professor Emeritus, the North Carolina Living Treasures award is currently presented biannually and celebrates the talent of North Carolinians with distinguished careers in arts and crafts traditional to the state.
