Artwork From International Art Colony on Display in Library 1/14/2009 12:00:53 PM  E-Mail William Madison Randall Library is hosting art work from the No Boundaries International Art Colony in collaboration with the Paint a Future project, Jan.13 – Feb. 25 on the first floor art wall. Thirty-five paintings were created by the artists involved with the organizations. Each artist chose a work created by an underprivileged child in Brazil and collaged that child's work into his or her painting. All proceeds from the sale of the paintings go towards helping the child, his or her family, the community and the school. The Paint a Future project was started by Hetty van der Linden of the Netherlands. After the Randall Library exhibition, some of the paintings will be displayed at the Atlanta airport and in the Netherlands. Formed in 1998 by Wilmington artists Dick Roberts, Pam Toll, and Gayle Tustin, No Boundaries Inc., a non-profit 501(c) 3, was born of their experiences at the Macedonian art colonies. No Boundaries provides artists from around the world a forum for free expression and cross-cultural dialogue. Nearly one hundred artists have been served in colonies and residencies along with educational and cultural events. Participating artists have shared their talents with students from DREAMS, UNCW Department of Art and Art History, Cameron Art Museum, Acme Art Studios, the Wilmington Art Association and local Rotary Clubs. William Madison Randall Library archives all working papers and related materials as a resource for university students and the community.
