Literacy Live, a partnership between the UNCW Department of Youth Programs and Randall Library, is sponsoring a once a month visit to the library where children can hear, read and act-out activities related to a book and its theme.

Sue Kezios has developed the programs. Volunteers are needed to act out readings or use puppets in front of an audience and work one on one with the children.

Parents feel free to bring little ones to the first summer 2009 event on Tuesday, May 19:
· Theme: Literacy Live from the Rainforest
· Book: The Great Kapok Tree, by Lynne Cherry
· 10:30 a.m. to noon: ages 3-5
· 3:30 to 5 p.m.: ages 5-8
· Randall Library, Juvenile Collection, 2nd floor

Those interested in volunteering or attending, contact Sue Kezios (kezioss@uncw.edu) or Rachel Radom (radomr@uncw.edu) for more information.

More Literacy Live events will be held over the summer.
