While it is being said that the recession has officially ended, what lies ahead for the U.S. economy and financial system? Will conditions return to normal and, if so, when? What's on the horizon for inflation and reform of the financial system? Tom Simpson, Executive in Residence in the Cameron School of Business, will address these questions and more during a presentation at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3 in room 1008 of the Computer Information Systems building.
Speaking on "Edging from the Abyss: Recovering from the Financial and Economic Crisis," Simpson will present an insider's view of the prospects for national economic recovery and the restoration of financial health. Simpson has consulted for the central banks of both Russia and Iraq, and he is the author of Money, Banking, and Economic Analysis. He joined the Department of Economics and Finance after his retirement from the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System in Washington, D.C.
