17th Annual Intercultural Week and Festival, Feb. 15-20

The Office of International Programs is hosting the 17th Annual Intercultural Week and Festival, Feb. 15-20. A full schedule of events has been planned to celebrate the rich diversity of cultures found within UNCW and the Wilmington community. For a detailed schedule of events, visit www.uncw.edu/iweek. Events are free unless otherwise noted.

The week concludes on Saturday, Feb. 20 with the Intercultural Festival. Music, dance, traditional clothing, and cultural displays representing countries from around the world will be on display from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Burney Center. The festival is open to all ages and admission is free, food items will be on sale. The Intercultural Festival is sponsored by Office of International Programs and UNCW Presents.

This year's festival includes performances by Port City Pipe and Drums, William 'Paco' Strickland (Flamenco guitar), Shea-Ra Nichi (African cultural dance), Kent Knorr/NC Ukulele Academy, Deer Clan Singers (Native American song), Transtrum (world music ensemble), Port City Nordic Folk Dancers, Classical Belly Dance with Marie Waters, SEA PANS (steel drum band), Ben Sorensen (Slovak folksongs), Ryukyukoku Matsuri Daiko (Japanese drumming), the Give Thanks Band (reggae), and more.
