Antivirus Protection Improvements

ITSD is pleased to announce that Symantec Endpoint Protection for Windows systems is now available to the UNCW community. Endpoint combines antivirus with advanced protection against spyware, malware and other threats that may take over a computer. Endpoint can actually catch these threats before a computer becomes infected. Those who do not have Endpoint Protection on their computer, it is highly recommended that you update your machine as soon as possible. As with Symantec Antivirus, this is a free download to all UNCW faculty, staff and students.
To view instructions on how to uninstall your current antivirus software and install Endpoint, go to www.uncw.edu/virus, and click on the link for Windows. Please note that Symantec does not currently have a Mac version of Endpoint Protection, but they are working on it as well as a release of Antivirus for Snow Leopard. ITSD will continue to offer Symantec Antivirus and updates for all systems, employees are encouraged to visit the antivirus download page www.uncw.edu/virus often.
